Our Trip to Nashville, Tennessee!!

We had a BLAST in Nashville! We went to several country music museums and even the Dukes of Hazzard Museum! The original cars from the TV show were there...it was sweet. We went to the Grand Ole Opry...definatley not what I expected but it was still neat. We spent some time in the Gibson Guitar Factory and got to see how all the guitars are made. We ate at this awesome resteraunt that was surrounded by walls and walls of fish tanks. The highlight was definatley feeding the Sting rays. It definatley took some time getting used to it but they were friendly enough. Ok...so the Opry Mills Mall was amazing! We seriously couldn't make it through the whole mall in one day. The girls got Pop star make overs at this cute little store. It was fun but we were definatley exhausted by the end of the day. :) It's sad to think our trip is almost over! It has been so much fun!!

We made it to Washington DC!

Oh my...what a trip! Our 12 hour trip seemed to turn into a 1200 hour trip. I don't know who was wrong us or the navigation system but I'm pretty sure it was us! We FINALLY left Kentucky about 9:30 am. We planned on leaving no later that 7AM. We had to go out to the barn to feed the horses and check on my sister who was riding that morning.

We then had to go to the grocery store and our few things turned into a cart load of stuff. Then we had to get gas....Well when we made it an hour to Nashville we ended up circling around the center of Nashville 4 times!! The freeways were so complicated and the navigation system kept trying to turn us around and we ended up wasting almost 2 hours there. So we took a chance....on a freeway and almost ended up Alabama! We had to turn around and drive back to Nashville (2 hours) to get on the right path and once we did it was pretty much smooth sailing from there. 12 Hours later right outside of DC my mom got pulled over. Her first ticket ever!! She just kepting telling the cops stories and stories and the poor guy just wanted to leave. He ended up letting her off with a 'failure to read a sign' ticket instead of a speeding ticket. Which is worse? Speeding ticket or telling you that you can't read? haha But we made it and had some fun stops on the way.

Kentucky!!

We just got into Kentucky today. Its soooooo humid here. It's really pretty outside with trees everywhere!! My mom picked us up from the airport and they pretty much ran across the airport when they saw Grandma! We are just going to relax for the whole night here and in the morning we plan on leaving really early for Washington DC. Yes we are pretty sure we are crazy because we are going to drive there!! Its going to be at least a 12 hour drive. But we are prepared with our laptops, books, magazines, crayons, coloring books, Nintendo DS's, mixed Cds, snacks, water.....I seriously doubt we forgot anything...but just incase we are stopping at the store in the morning. Amanda has to work over Memorial Day so she can't come :( But it's going to be a great trip and I just can't wait to get there!!!

Another successful surgery for Travis!

Travis' surgery went really well. It was moved to Thursday, so he's been recovering for 2 days now. His pain is getting better, and he's becoming more and more coherent! They reversed the colostomy with no problems, but oddly enough, they found H.O. (that's the abnormal bone growth) in his abdomen! They were able to remove it, but it's been causing him pain. But he already got out of bed! Another successful surgery out of the way! Thanks for all the prayers!

Jazz Game!!

We had so much fun in Salt Lake over the weekend! My brother Travis was granted a leave from the hospital and he and his family joined us at the Utah Jazz Game. We also had fun at the Mayan for lunch. After lunch we went over to the South Towne mall and let the kids ride on the carousel and Travis picked out some sweet stickers for his cane. After the mall we headed over to the energy solutions arena (aka Delta Center) and got Kaycie all dolled up for her performace. She did so good!! It was pretty much the cutest thing ever! Then we enjoyed the game! Go Jazz!!

Look at that hair!!!

A small melt down!

It was the cutest thing ever to watch the girls!

Back in the hospital!

It was wonderful having Travis home for Christmas! He is now back in DC. He actually tipped over in his wheelchair and fell pretty hard. The MRI showed that he broke his hip and pelvis again! The DR said the MRI was too cloudy to tell what was going on because of the HO that has formed again on his pelvis. So he was admitted in the hospital last night and is not allowed to move. He is scheduled for surgery tomorrow. I'll keep everyone updated on the progress of his surgery. He says this is just a minor set back. He always stays so positive!!
