Update: TV story
From Steph:
Hey all, Here's a 15 min. TV thing about the 10th Mountain Armydivision soldiers at Walter Reed. Travis was attachedwith 10th, so we got to participate. They came theday after surgery, so Trav couldn't be on. But, he'sdoing better. His pain is still crazy high, 6-7, butphysical therapy is moving his right leg and hip sofar. He can almost move his hips to a 90 degreeangle, which is the angle he needs to sit upcompletely! Thank you all so much for you continuinglove and support! We miss you all! Love, Steph http://www.drum.army.mil/sites/installation/pao/drumtv/wmv/Walter%20Reed%20Special%207-27-07.wmv

Update: Travis is out of Surgery-HO removed!!

Travis had his HO removed today! It was about a 5hour long surgery. They were able to take almost allthe extra bone out! His leg already moves better thanbefore, but his pain is the same. Tomorrow he isgetting one dose of radiation so to stop the HO fromgrowing back. They also found arthritis in his hipjoint, so perhaps in the future he will have a hipreplacement.

Sergeant Travis Wood + Purple Heart award!
Hey everyone! Yep, Travis is a sergeant now!!! It isnot official until the end of June, but they finallypromoted him! It's taken a year of waiting and beingpushed back, but it happened. He was very happy tohear that. Finally, something good came! He is stilldoing the same, lots of pain and not out of bed. Thedocs have given us a time line of 2-3 weeks until hecan get the HO removed out of his hip. Until then, hewill just be in a lot of pain. He can get more meds, but then he would sleep all the time, and he doesn'twant to do that again. But, his spirits are doinggood. He is so grateful for all the great thingseveryone has done for us. He is such a positive guy,and is trying to stay that way! Well, we hope you allare doing well, and we miss everyone so bad! Love, Steph

Art Festival at the Greenbelt
We love to go for walk on the Greenbelt in the summer! We also love it when our favorite little spot is free and we can relax and have picnics there! Today we went down for the Arts festival and took a bunch of pics. It was a lot of fun walking around and checking out all the cool little things that people make! There were some awesome booths! Here are a couple pics of the girls that I especially liked!

Update: Travis' skin graph
Travis got a skin graph today from his right thigh to his backside wound. Hopefully, if this takes, in 2 weeks he will be able to have surgery to remove his H.O.! (that's the abnormal bone growth in his hip, prohibiting him to move) He's doing pretty goodthough. His pain has been more under control. Theyuse a pain scale from 1-10, 1 no pain, 10 the worst, and he had been sitting at a 6-7 all day long. Now ithas dropped to a 4-5 all day. So this is a goodrelief.
